Professor Skiadopoulos is an external, independent academic advisor of Iolcus Investments. He is a Professor in the Department of Banking and Financial Management of the University of Piraeus, as well as a Professor in the School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary University, London. He is also the Director and co-founder of the Institute of Finance and Financial Regulation and a Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of London’s Cass Business School’s Faculty of Finance. Professor Skiadopoulos has acted as a consultant to a number of institutions in Greece and abroad; before joining academia, he worked for the Financial Options Research Centre and the Athens Derivatives Exchange. His research interests and work experience focus on portfolio and risk management, asset valuation, alternative investments and financial derivatives. He has had his work published in leading journals, such as Management Science, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics. His research has been funded by institutions, such as the CME Group Foundation, the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities and the Athens Derivatives Exchange, and it has been cited by media outlets such as Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal. Professor Skiadopoulos holds a PhD in Finance from Warwick University, a master’s degree in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics from the London School of Economics, and a summa cum laude bachelor’s degree in Economics by the Athens University of Economics and Business, also being his class’ valedictorian.
